Style vs Fills

Not sure if it is only an internal debate within Graff Inc or if it is a debate within all of the graffiti community. However we sure debate it from time to time what makes a dope piece. Some say it takes style alone and others say its fills and background.

Style is important, we're not saying it only takes crazy dope fills. The argument is that there are some "dope" writers that have mediocre or questionable style (no, we're not naming any) but can crush their fills and background. Those writers get a lot of credit but why isn't the lack of style recognized? Some of us say that as long as you got your own style and you get up while producing dope pieces if only the fills and such pull it together, than let it be. Others say it's only and all in the style.

This RAYS piece we sort of think finishes that debate (no not really). But! We are as close as ever before, ha-ha.

Artist Release Party (LA)

Its almost time!  We are just over 2 weeks away from our event in San Pedro, Ca. We want to thank Machinestudio for hosting us!

We will be featuring artist prints from New York's infamous PER1 from FX crew.  Bringing a unique old school New York style, one of the pioneers of graffiti, these prints are rare as he does not do canvas and shows.

JABER is one of the most notorious freight writers of all time.  If you've ever benched for more than day, you are almost guaranteed to catch one of his head characters or pieces. Legal, illegal, freight, wall productions, bombing, international painting writer, he has done it all.  Arguably the most well rounded graffiti artist in the game.

Painting longer than almost any two writers you know combined, ESKAE has paid his dues. This style beast freestyles every piece.  Notorious for finding odd and random places to put up a burner gives a unique way to paint that even the mainstream art community respects.

Artist Release Party (LA)

We are coming for the West Coast! We teamed up with Machine Studio's in San Pedro just outside of Los Angeles. This September 7th we will be featuring our artist signed prints, t-shirts, stickers and more!

Come hang with us and check out our prints and enjoy the good vibes. We will be holding it during San Pedro's art walk. This is the second even after we held one in Fort Lauderdale back in May.

We will be featuring work by, PER1, JABER and ESKAE.  All prints will be available for sale and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the artists.

Clean isn't a enough of a word to describe how this dude painted.  The FUA Krew is PACKED with talented artists from TASTE to MEK to RANGE to OZ.  Every artist in that squad brings something to the table.  Their productions were full and always complete!  Standing back and looking at such a massive wall, there was always one style that stood out which was BONES.  His graffiti style was so unique I don't think it'll ever be recreated.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and his crew!

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

We met TASTE a few years back and he's a real nice dude who is amazingly talented!  This Molotow train car has been painted by only the best!  This piece is pure fire and nothing less than what you'd expect.  We appreciate the commentary that TASTE gives and can't believe he doens't use a sketch.  Shows how truly talented he is that he can do such dope burners off the top of his head.  He describes that the name should already be in your blood which should ring true on any real writer.

Website Update

We may have been on vacation last month however that doesn't mean we were sleeping and sipping drinks the whole time.  We have been working on our website vigorously and there's a light at the end of the tunnel!  We are excited for the next few months and hopefully this fall we will have it completed!  Stay patient and stay with us!
