Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Ok, so this is a good little video of some history of graffiti. Cool old footage and shots of a time what seems now forgotten in graffiti history.

The video does a pretty good job going through the timeline of the history of graffiti putting nearly 30 years inside of a 15 minute video. Not sure how much of it is 100% accurate, a lot of it seems to be given our own knowledge but we didn't do any research on their exact time line claims.

Our only issue is the narrator's voice, it is not exactly something you can listen to for 15 minutes and then want to listen to again, ha-ha. Some more real video footage would have been helpful too.

Our apologies to the narrator but we're not going to sugar coat it. We know how difficult it is to put a video together and we respect the work and any research they did. However, maybe use a better mic and throw some background music in too.

Wu Wednesday

Video is grainy and a bit rough but it's the early 90's on a home video camera so deal with it.  It's just raw, realdeal footage of the Wu Tang Clan. We enjoyed it... well most of it, like we said, it's a bit rough, ha-ha.

Wu Wednesday

Our attitudes about what people think... seriously we're doing this for the love of the game.  Graffiti is not to be bought and sold but it is to be shared. Our prints profit is to the artists themselves who have put in decades of work to get where they are. Any profits we collect is reinvested to the next generation of prints. We have big-big plans for the graffiti world but see miles ahead of us to get where we want to be.

Enjoy this track because we think it's ill!

**BIG NEWS**

We are happy and excited to announce that we have acquired GraffHead's YouTube account. A reputable organization with nearly 10,000 subscribers and over 3 million views, it made sense.  Approached them after we discovered this dormant account and reached an agreement to help keep it alive by using the account to upload our own videos into.

....umm, is it real?

Do we really have a new Wu-Tang Clan song and video? Someone pinch me because it can't be real.

Such fire and as if they picked up where they left off.  Enjoy cause your week can only go down here from here, ha-ha!

Wu Wednesday

If you were alive and into rap in the late 90's early 2000's and were using P2P web platforms like Napster, it is nearly unavoidable that you did not download music by BENEFIT.

He is still around and kicking, still making some fresh music (especially by today's standards).  Definitely recommend going down memory lane and checking his tracks off his YouTube. If you have never heard of him and you like today's music, well, you're lost anyways...

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Ha-ha, seriously!  This is great! We want more! Graffiti fails and chases are really entertaining, well as long as it's not you getting chased. This is only part 1 so we can't wait to see what else they got coming.  This was professionally put together and highly recommend as it's only a few minutes long and will leave you wanting more.

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

This is a SEEN interview by Hong Kong Tatler and although it isn't necessarily a full length feature film or any extensive painting it is extremely informative.  Go inside the mind of the godfather of graffiti and hear him discuss the past, present and future of graffiti. As short as it is at just 3:28 run time, it's chalk full of history and goes in depth to how he explored graffiti in the 80's.

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Dope video of some South African clean trains on the Metrol Rail in Cape Town City.  The video description bosts that it's "in fact the first first graffiti whole train in Africa!!" Featuring the following graffiti writers, Blak, Wer, Sure, Ink, Slate, Toe, Name, Raze. A very short and to the point of benching these whole cars.  We love a more put together video of action shots and 'b-role' and finished product but you just cant front on a whole car, not to mention a whole train of whole car's. The track by Richard The Third, but we recognize that maybe this isn't our taste of music, doesn't mean it's not yours and shouldn't hurt the overall rating.

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Need to buy a clue about graffiti ...this should help!

Seriously, this is a well done short piece on the history of graffiti done by PBS.  Informative as it dives into the historical relevance and the evolution of the graffiti scene as we know it today. Interviews by the authors of "The History of American Graffiti,"as they explain a bit of the scene and its history.

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Definitely a dope DVD for the freight writer, has everything a freight writer would want to see. It drags at times, especially at the action scenes, but once you fast forward through those times it picks up again. At 1hour and 42min running time, you def get your money's worth. This video was definitely made by freight writers for freight writers.  Made back in 2004 it does show its age given we now have widescreens and 4k video; however, it doesnt take away from its legendary status and relevance today.  Features some live action painting and train hopping with KWEST and SENSR, and a hobo interview with Malachi aka ''RIDE HARD RETARD''.  YouTube description brags that "this film had worldwide distribution with over 7,800 copies being sold." A real dope original soundtrack mixed by SOE1 throughout the video

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Graffiti Verite' 5 -  A real breath of fresh air when it comes to a graffiti documentary. Not just another video of the same couple of dudes bombing and boring you. This video takes place in a town in Iowa that you probably never heard of which maybe will lose some of its interest but the attitudes and opinions remind me a lot of those of early hip-hop. Very entertaining with a different perspective on the graffiti documentary genre.

Wu Wednesday's

We can't remember if we've features Mac Miller on the blog or not.  Anyways, he's pretty fresh and reminds us some ol school 90s flow that has been updated... if that makes sense.  This song isn't particularly our favorite but it's a good summer song.

Tuesday's Underground Lowdown

Piece By Piece was not like any other graffiti video we've seen.  A really well organized video on the history of graffiti in San Francisco that goes back to the early 80's. This is a true documentary and entertaining with the professionalism that could be comparable to the classic film, Style Wars.

You don't have to be from or live in the bay area to appreciate or be entertained by this documentary. From the interviews of the artists who lived it; it was really informative and gave it to you straight. The directors really did do a good job at capturing the graffiti mentality and stayed structured in the different eras within the bay area's graffiti subculture. This is a pretty ill video for any writer or just someone who's interested in this criminal but highly artistic art form.

Tuesday Underground Lowdown

If youre in the graffiti scene and you've never seen this head character than you've got to get out from under your rock.  This is a good video from the head legend himself and his British accent? ha-ha... It's entertaining as hell especially to anyone who values hearing wise words from the horses mouth  graffinctrades.com is still in talks with JABER about collaborating and the only hold up is the shopping cart.
